Mom or Dad: Who gets more stuff on their day?

Father’s Day is not nearly the spend-fest that Mother’s Day is (and if you haven’t been shopping yet, you have exactly 11 days). Check out these figures from the National Retail Federation:

1. Expected spending per dad: $90.89 compared to $94.54 last year.

2. Spending per mom: $129.89 compared to $138.63 last year.

3. Consumers will spend the most on an outing — dinner or sporting event — for dad ($1.9 billion).

4. Flowers were tops for mom (66 percent were planning to give them), also for a total of $1.9 billion.

5. $752 million will be spent on greeting cards for dad.

6. Forget greeting cards, $1.5 billion was planned for GIFT cards for mom.
